PUBLIC INFORMATION DAY - PRESS RELEASE
27/06/2011

Oceanflow Development Limited (Oceanflow) is proposing to install and test a 1/4
scale tidal energy converter device in Sanda Sound, South Kintyre. The device is
capable of generating energy with the tides, up to a maximum power of around
35kW, and is intended to be connected to the national grid. This is a prototype, and
would be used to test the concept of small scale community energy size tidal
turbines and to help understand the performance that could be expected from larger
units deployed in areas such as the Pentland Firth.
An application is being made in June 2011 to Marine Scotland, in order to obtain
consent for installation of the device in Sanda Sound.
Oceanflow will be holding a public information day in Campbeltown for the purpose
of informing local residents and any other interested parties about the device, our
company and our plans for the trials. Oceanflow staff will be there to answer
questions and there will be a short presentation at two pre-arranged times during
the event. We very much look forward to meeting you and hearing your questions
and points of view.
