Ocean Flow Energy Ltd won the "Environment Award" at a local awards ceremony last night that was hosted by One North East. Graeme Mackie received the award during a ceremony that included a speech from TV’s Alan Hart-Davis and showcased our regions hottest business prospects for 2009.

We were happy to accept this award with great pride for our region which has not only a very rich history of important engineering developments but also we feel an even brighter future in renewable energy technology.

The night capped a very important year in the development of the Evopod Tidal Turbine whose last stages of development and sea trails were partially funded by a Research and Development grant from One North East.

The money has seen Evopod go from strength to strength and we’d like to give a big thank you to One North East for helping us in our devices long-term development.
